I Am The Door

John 10:7
“So Jesus said again: “Most truly I say to you, I am the door for the sheep. 8 All those who have come IN PLACE OF ME are thieves and plunderers; but the sheep have not listened to them. 9  I am the door; whoever enters through me will be saved, and that one will go in and out and find pasturage. 10 The thief does not come unless it is to steal and slay and destroy.
I have come that they may have life and have it in abundance"

When a thief comes to steal & plunder, it will not be obvious, he may even wear a balaclava to hide his true identity.
Sheep only recognise their owners by their voice & not by their description.
So how important is it for Christ’s sheep to recognise Jesus voice & not the voice of strangers?
Jesus says they’ll be many who’ll come in place of him, some think this is referring to the devil, but it’s those who put themselves in the place of him, professing to be the gate keeper that leads them to this pasturage where they can go in and out freely. Initially Jesus was referring to the Pharisees who mistreated Gods people.
Yet Jesus says HE is the door, you cannot enter into the sheepfold by climbing up ANY OTHER WAY.
The fine shepherd who is Christ goes ahead of his sheep, ensuring their safety, never leaving them vulnerable to the attack from predators.
The true shepherd comes because he wants us to have life in abundance.
So how important is it that we study Christs words, meditating on them often so that we can truly recognise our masters voice during this time of the end.
