I Came To Start A Fire On The Earth

“I Came To Start A Fire On The Earth”
Luke 12:49
“I came to start a fire on the earth, and what more is there for me to wish if it has already been lit? 50 Indeed, I have a baptism with which to be baptized, and how I am distressed until it is finished!”

What a phenomenal scripture. Why is Jesus so distressed and what is this baptism which is yet to be finished?
Also what is the fire that he came to start on the earth which has already been lit?

When Jesus was on earth he knew that there would come a time that his sheep would be struck and the sheep would be scattered, fulfilling a past and future prophesy.
The fire that had been lit was when he selected his twelve apostles to be Kings & Priests alongside him in heaven, this was later confirmed during Pentecost 33CE when the “Holy Spirit” was poured out from above in the form of tongues of flames upon each of their heads, there were 120 in total gathered for this magnificent event.
The distress is because Jesus knew that within his “spiritual temple” the body of Christ, the “Man Of Lawlessness” was present & on this occasion it so happened to be no other than Judas Iscariot, who went on to betray Jesus, resulting in the sheep being scattered. We find this fulfilment in
Matthew 36:21
“Then Jesus said to them: “All of you will be stumbled in connection with me on this night, for it is written: ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered about”
The first fulfilment is found in
Zechariah 13:7 “O sword, awake against my shepherd,
Against the man who is my companion,” declares Jehovah of armies.
“Strike the shepherd, and let the flock be scattered;
And I will turn my hand against those who are insignificant.”
When we read the account in Zechariah 13:4 it becomes quite clear that there is an impostor in amongst the slave class, who was purchased when young and has wounds between his shoulders showing that he’d been beaten by his master.
He will not be allowed to wear a garment of hair to deceive, as these garments were only worn by the priestly Levite class. No this imposter would be revealed later not only as Judas Iscariot the original “man of lawlessness” but would be present in their midst during the time of the end upon Christ Jesus return, we also have this confirmed in
Luke 12:47
“Then that slave who understood the will of his master but did not get ready or do what he asked will be beaten with many strokes”
So Jesus has good reason to be distressed because the baptism he has cannot be completed until he has removed from his Kingdom all things which causes “stumbling” he also knows that this will act as a sword, not bringing peace but a division when these ones are being revealed. Jesus says at
Luke 12:51
“Do you think I came to give peace on the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division. 52 For from now on there will be five in one house divided, three against two and two against three. 53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”
Now it should be clear as to why such a division should arise during this time, it’s because of the betrayal and trust that has now been broken upon the revealing of this “man of lawlessness” in their midst, allowing for the sealing of the true brothers of Christ to be made manifest through this final baptism which is their sealing and acknowledgment poured out from above.
This confirms what Jesus would do upon his arrival, he says the harvest is the “conclusion of the system of things” and the angels are the reapers.
Matthew 13:41
“The Son of man will send his angels, and they will collect out from HIS KINGDOM all things that cause stumbling and people who practice lawlessness, 42 and they will pitch them into the fiery furnace. There is where their weeping and the gnashing of their teeth will be. 43 At that time the righteous ones will shine as brightly as the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. Let the one who has ears listen”
At that time they’ll be no second guessing who Christs brothers are as the scriptures at Romans 8:19 says
“For the creation is waiting with eager expectation for the revealing of the sons of God”
It says in Isaiah 23:1
“Look! A king will reign for righteousness,
And princes will rule for justice”
During this time a real awakening will commence it says at
Isaiah 32:3
“Then the eyes of those seeing will no longer be pasted shut,
And the ears of those hearing will pay attention”
I believe we are now living in this time when all will soon be revealed, what an amazing and blessed time to be living in.
