Everyone has the capacity to love. When it comes to loving God Jehovah requires our complete devotion and that is where it gets a little tricky. Unfortunately, things get in the way. We can love the wrong thing. That is what idolatry is. It is not that Jehovah is out of the picture completely. It is just that an idol is loved more.
Jehovah's Witnesses cannot deny that the Watchtower dominates every aspect of faith. It supplies everything from Bibles and teaching aids, songs to be sung, conversation starters, instructions on dress and grooming, policies and procedures, lots of policies and procedures and on and on. Christian meetings are totally scripted. Paragraphs are read. Correct answers underlined. Comments are now restricted to 30 seconds.
I remember back a few years JWs would refer to the Watchtower as an authority and say: "The Society says..." Well, the Society advised JWs not to say "the Society says" anymore. I guess they realized how unseemingly and idolatrous it was/is. At least, that is what the Society said.
Isaiah was written seven hundred years before the Christian era began. Ad because of Jehovah's matchless foresight, he foretells how it will end.
"For Jehovah has poured a spirit of deep sleep on you; He has closed your eyes, the prophets, and he has covered your heads, the visionaries." - Isaiah 29:10
Those "prophets" and "visionaries" are those who presume to explain the meaning of the Bible's prophecies and visions. And irony of ironies, the Watchtower is fulfilling prophecy by their failure to understand prophecy, particularly as they pertain to the second coming of Christ. But why does God refuse to shake them awake? Jehovah provides the answer: “This people approach me with their mouth and they honor me with their lips, but their heart is far removed from me; and their fear of me is based on commands of men that they have been taught. Therefore, I am the One who will again do wonderful things with this people, with wonder upon wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men will perish, and the understanding of their discreet men will be hidden.” (vs 13,14)
The GB claim to be the faithful and discreet slave, do they not? In what way will their wisdom perish and their understanding be hidden? Simple, when Jesus comes it will contradict everything the Watchtower has taught. For example, the Watchtower has asserted that the events that transpired over 100 years ago have fulfilled Bible prophecy in such a way that no future fulfillment is possible. They are sound asleep as regards what is really happening in the world now. God truly has closed their eyes and covered their heads. They are oblivious to the fact that the nations are locked on a collision course that will culminate in World War Three. They are completely unaware that the billionaires are concocting new and deadly viruses to be released as part of their population reduction scheme to save the planet from excessive numbers of CO2 exhalers. Neither does the GB have a clue that the food supply chain is being intentionally destroyed. In short, the prophets and visionaries have assured us that the horsemen of the Apocalypse have already had their ride.
Jehovah will do a wonderful thing when Christ comes knocking on Bethel's door and no one answers. "Why, then, was no one here when I came? Why did no one answer when I called?" - Isaiah 50:2
