The Watchtower's counsel is fine when applied on a personal level. As usual though, in typical pharisaic fashion, the counselors never apply their counsel to themselves. Consider the matter of vaccinations. At first, the GB took the right course and simply said it was a personal matter. As the pandemic ground on the GB flipped and became vigorous advocates of the injections, even boasting that the organization was involved in distributing the elixir to poor regions that could not acquire the vaccines. Many of Jehovah's Witnesses have been troubled by the Governing Body's recklessness in this matter. Some cannot overlook it and have decided to leave the organization. As far as holding onto resentment, everyone should know that God holds onto resentment. He is highly offended when appointed shepherds abuse his sheep and stumble them - worse, when the shepherds sell the sheep to the slaughterhouse.
Jehovah has a set time when he is going to express his pent-up resentment and anger. It is called the day of Jehovah.
"‘Woe to those who yearn for the day of Jehovah! What, then, will the day of Jehovah mean for you? It will be darkness, and not light. It will be like a man who flees from a lion and is confronted by a bear, and when he enters his house and leans his hand against the wall, a snake bites him. Will not the day of Jehovah be darkness, and not light; will it not have gloom, and not brightness?" - Amos 5:18-20
