"A system of religious veneration and devotion directed towards a particular figure or object" You could say that the Catholic Church is a Cult as the Pope is given huge Veneration. I have to admit that the "Faithful and discreet slave" is often given more veneration than Christ himself. A recent Watchtower article never mentioned Jesus name once, yet the FDS was mentioned. To be honest I don't let the term cult really bother me, it's what they're accused of thats more important, maybe if they had addressed the paedophiles issue correctly from the start, along with the shunning of even some sexually abused victims, the term Cult being applied to them wouldn't have stuck.
But when they cling to a "two witness rule" which only helps the perpetrator and was requested to be removed at the order of the judge, the Faithful and Discreet Slave refused, is it any wonder anger flares for the injustices seen? we definitely don't make it easy on ourselves.
