I have a close friend whose first cousin has served at Bethel for the past 35 years, and who was quite close to Anthony Morris.

There was a certain set of circumstance regarding the District Convention (which involved my friend's infant son), that he shared with his cousin, who in turn shared it with Anthony Morris.

Over 20 years ago, my friend and his family were assigned to attend the District Convention held in an open air stadium in Philadelphia. On the first day, with afternoon temperatures peaking over 38°C, my friend and his wife decided to leave before the afternoon session for the sake of their son.

However, the next day, they did attend the full session only to hear Anthony Morris berate them (although he didn't mention names) for their decision saying after he related to the audience what they did instead with their son sarcastically adding... "Now these folks are really spiritually minded and putting Kingdom interests first."

This greatly upset my friend and his wife. Obviously, Morris has neither empathy nor compassion. That sort of heat in the open Sun is definitely not something an infant should be subjected to.
