Russell was friends with the Zionists too, like Lord Rothschilds, I feel he felt he was ahead of his time and cornered a truth that nobody else had found. This created in him a bit of a competitive spirit, in wanting to show an alternative light through Christianity, even the pyramid was supposedly the Bible in stone, Jesus being the corner stone, that was cut out made them some what masons. But his smartness lead him to go off track in believing that Zionism meant that he was to help re-gather all the Jews to Palestine, believing they were spiritual Israel. Later the org learnt a hard lesson in listening to those in opposition to Jehovah, when Hitler believed that JW and the Jews were planning world domination and put them in concentration camps, then later they found out that Israel became members of the UN and that’s when all teachings of Zionism ended. That’s not to say they haven’t infiltrated since then, because how do we explain the convention hall in Sweden that’s in the eye of Horus?
